For nonprofits.

The premise

YMD partners with civic, mentorship, cultural, and youth organizations on brand strategy, identity, storytelling, and community programming.

You're in the right place if...

  • You're preparing for a rebrand, capital campaign, or major program launch

  • Your identity doesn't reflect who you serve now, or who you've become

  • You need a story portfolio that works across annual report, funder decks, and social

  • You're designing or refreshing your community programming

  • You want a creative partner who understands consent, cultural fluency, and long-term relationships

How engagements typically work

Identity and story work usually runs six to twelve weeks, paced around your board calendar and any campaign or launch date you're working toward.

Programming engagements run longer, often a season or a full program cycle, because designing with a community takes more than one meeting.

We scope in phases so you can approve direction before production, and so grant or campaign timing drives the schedule instead of ours.

Questions

Straight answers

Do you work with small organizations?

Yes. Much of our work is with small and mid-size teams where one or two people carry all the communications. We build systems sized for that, not for a marketing department.

How do you handle photographing youth and community members?

Consent first. We plan releases, opt-outs, and shooting boundaries with your staff before we bring a camera, and we do not use frames anyone asked us not to use.

Can the work be used in grant applications and annual reports?

That's usually the point. We deliver story assets in the formats funders expect, along with social cuts from the same shoot.

Will our team be able to keep this going after handoff?

Yes. Every engagement ends with guidelines, templates, and a short working session so staff and volunteers can produce on their own.

Do you help design the programming itself?

Yes. We develop culturally inclusive programming and events with local organizations, from concept and partners through documentation.
